Louisiana 2025 Regular Session Update

The 2025 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature will begin on April 14, 2025. This session is a fiscal session, meaning the primary focus of the session will be taxation.  Only a very limited number of non-fiscal bill filings will be permitted.

Louisiana 2024 Regular Session Update

The 2024 Regular Session began on Monday, March 11 and will run for up to 85 calendar days.  It is a non-fiscal session so no tax bills will be filed. Just under 1100 bills were pre-filed by the March 1 COB deadline, and each legislator may introduce up to 5 additional bills through April 2.
