POLITICAL STOCK REPORT
A collection of insider opinion (Dec. 4-10)

Rising

GOP Lobbyists
With Republicans poised to take full control of the Legislature and the guv’s office, it only makes sense to believe it’s going to be a good time to be a Republican lobbyist for at least the next couple of years. And several outfits seem to be positioning themselves to be players in the new Republican power structure.

The Arena Strategy Group, the Green Bay firm of Republican consultant Mark Graul, opens a new Madison arm that will focus on lobbying, while Brad Boycks, the director of government and public affairs for the Wisconsin Builders Association, is forming a separate LLC to take on both lobbying and consulting clients.

Those moves follow the Capitol Group, with Brandon Scholz and Michelle Kussow, teaming up with Quarles & Brady for a new “strategic affiliation” they say will help clients navigate a new landscape in Madison.

artKussow is past president of Wisconsin Women in Government, and raised more than $200,000 for the group. Her role at The Capitol Group is, in part, to help lead the way for more women to be involved in government and politics. She especially would like to see "more business owners elected to City Council."
